It is with deep sorrow that we share the devastating loss of 50-year-old Melinda Portales Garcia, who tragically passed away early Sunday morning in a high-speed crash on Weber Road and Tripoli Street around 6:30 a.m.
Melinda was a passenger in a Cadillac Escalade that collided with a BMW before crashing into a utility pole. She was ejected from the vehicle and sadly did not survive. The accident also claimed the life of 46-year-old Rene Govea Sr. The female driver of the Cadillac is now facing intoxication manslaughter charges, pending toxicology results.
Melinda leaves behind multiple children who are heartbroken and devastated by this sudden loss. She will be remembered for her love, her presence, and the irreplaceable role she held in her family’s life.
