It is with profound sorrow that we share the passing of Officer Gabriel Stainback, a dedicated Cornelius police officer whose life was tragically cut short on Saturday afternoon while riding his bike with his wife in Concord, N.C.
Officer Stainback joined the Cornelius Police Department in December 2024 and quickly became a valued member of the force. Known for his commitment to service, professionalism, and kindhearted nature, he was respected and admired by his colleagues and community alike.
Recently married, Gabriel’s life was filled with promise, and his sudden loss has left an immeasurable void for his loved ones, friends, and the entire CPD family. His courage, dedication, and gentle spirit will be remembered by all who knew him.
