The Woodlawn community is mourning the loss of 52-year-old Deanna M. Simone, who tragically died following a car crash in Carroll County on Friday morning, September 12, 2025.
According to Virginia State Police, Simone was driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer along the 4400 block of Elk Horn Road when her vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway and struck a bridge railing. Emergency crews responded quickly, and Simone was rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, she sadly passed away from her injuries.
Authorities confirmed that Simone was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Investigators believe fatigue may have played a role, though the incident remains under active review.
Loved ones and neighbors remember Simone as a cherished part of the Woodlawn community, and her untimely passing has left many in shock and grief.
