KENNEY, Ill. — The DeWitt County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred on September 16, 2025, in Kenney.
Coroner Randy J. Rice confirmed the deceased as Leinaala T. Schmidt, 45, of Clinton, formerly of Springfield.
Preliminary autopsy results indicate that Schmidt died from multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the crash. Additional testing and a full investigation into the circumstances of the accident are ongoing.
Authorities have not yet released further details surrounding the cause of the crash.
