With deep sadness and heavy hearts, we mourn the tragic and untimely loss of Tyler Penasse, a 25-year-old man from West Nipissing, whose life was taken far too soon. Tyler was found deceased on Monday, September 15, 2025, in a remote area near Hardy Lake Road in Torrance, Ontario. His passing has since been confirmed as a homicide by the Ontario Provincial Police.
Tyler’s family, friends, and community are devastated by this heartbreaking news. Known for his kind soul, bright smile, and the genuine warmth he brought to every room, Tyler touched the lives of many. He had a passion for life and a spirit that couldn’t be dimmed even in the most difficult of times.
“Tyler was loved deeply and will be missed endlessly. His presence brought light to those around him, and that light will continue to shine in the hearts of everyone who knew him.”
As police continue their investigation, Tyler’s loved ones are seeking answers and justice. The Bracebridge OPP, under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch and with the support of the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service, are working tirelessly to uncover the truth.
Authorities are asking anyone who was in the areas of Hardy Lake Road, Torrance, Bala, Wahta, or Gravenhurst between Sunday, September 14 and Monday, September 15 to come forward with any information or dashcam footage, no matter how minor it may seem.
Tyler’s memory will never fade. His laughter, kindness, and love will live on in those who carry his story forward. In the face of this senseless tragedy, we honor his life and call upon the community to help bring closure and justice.
