LaFAYETTE, Ala. — A large police presence has been reported near the LaFayette High School football stadium Friday night following reports of gunfire.
The incident happened around halftime of the LaFayette vs. Lanett football game. According to authorities, shots were fired near the intersection of Alabama Avenue E and Seventh Street NE, just behind the stadium.
The game was immediately suspended as law enforcement and emergency medical services responded to the scene. At this time, it is unclear if there are any injuries.
Police remain on site as the situation continues to develop.
