Shots Fired at Sacramento ABC10 News Station, Police Investigating

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Police are investigating after gunfire struck the building housing local ABC affiliate ABC10 (KXTV) in Sacramento on Friday afternoon.

According to the Sacramento Police Department, the shooting happened around 1:30 p.m. when at least three bullets were fired into the news station building. Investigators believe the shots came from a passing vehicle.

The bullets shattered the lobby window of the ABC10 studio, which was occupied at the time. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

“I don’t know if this was targeted or if this was a random act, but what I can tell you is our detectives are on scene and they’re going to be conducting follow-up while we try and figure out who is responsible for this,” said Officer Anthony Gamble of the Sacramento Police Department.

At this time, police have not released any suspect information or possible motive. The investigation remains ongoing.
