It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of John Louis Petri, Jr., 28, of Westminster, Maryland. John tragically lost his life on September 20, 2025 in a single-vehicle crash in Carroll County.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency responders. The crash occurred around 1:40 a.m. on Maryland Route 97 at Mayberry Road, when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned, striking a fence, a telephone pole, and a house.
The Maryland State Police Crash Team, with assistance from the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration, is conducting a full investigation.
John’s loss is deeply felt by his family, friends, and the community. He will be remembered fondly for the impact he made on those around him. Our thoughts and prayers are with all who loved him during this difficult time.
