TROUP COUNTY, Ga. — School officials have confirmed that Callaway High School is currently under a soft lockdown as law enforcement investigates an incident in the surrounding area.
According to administrators, students and staff are remaining in their current classrooms while the precautionary lockdown remains in effect. No visitors are being permitted on campus, and officials have suspended student checkouts until the situation is resolved and the lockdown is lifted.
“There is no immediate threat inside the school building, but this measure is being taken out of an abundance of caution while law enforcement handles the incident nearby,” officials told BEETV.
Authorities have not yet released details about the nature of the incident prompting the response.
