Crash Near Grovespring Kills Teen, Seriously Injures Another

GROVESPRING, Mo. — A tragic crash west of Grovespring on Sunday night claimed the life of a 13-year-old from Grovespring and left a 14-year-old from Niangua with serious injuries, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Troopers reported that the crash happened when a 16-year-old driver ran off Missouri Route M. The SUV overturned, ejecting both passengers. The driver sustained only minor injuries.

Authorities confirmed that none of the occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol does not release the names of juveniles involved in crashes.

This marks Troop G’s 26th fatality of 2025, compared to 17 fatalities during the same period last year. Troop G, headquartered in Willow Springs, serves nine counties in southern Missouri.

The investigation remains ongoing.
