INDEPENDENCE, Ky. – Authorities have identified the victims and suspect in a violent murder-suicide and shooting that left two people dead and another critically injured late Sunday night in Independence.
Heaven Glison, 24, was found fatally shot early Monday morning in a wooded area near her home at the Taylor Ridge Apartments. Investigators say she was killed by Donald Bryant, 34, who later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The incident began around 11:20 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, when officers responded to reports of gunfire at the Regal Ridge Drive complex. At the scene, police discovered Daylon Bradford, 33, suffering from a gunshot wound. Bradford was transported to the hospital and remains in critical condition.
Following the initial shooting, a large-scale search was launched for Bryant and Glison. SWAT officers, drones, and K-9 units joined the effort, and residents were ordered to shelter in place as law enforcement surrounded the area.
At approximately 3 a.m., officers reported hearing multiple gunshots from the woods nearby. Both Bryant and Glison were later located dead, authorities confirmed.
Captain Mike Brock of the Independence Police Department said investigators have not yet determined a motive and stated there is no known connection between Bryant and the two victims.
