The Waco community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Elijah McIntyre, 18, who tragically lost his life after a shooting on Sunday, September 21, 2025.
Officers with the Waco Police Department responded to reports of gunfire around 8:30 p.m. near the 900 block of N. 9th Street. When they arrived, they discovered two young men had been shot. Both were transported to a local hospital, where Elijah was sadly pronounced deceased. The second victim, a 19-year-old male, remains in stable condition.
Elijah was a vibrant young man remembered for his kind heart, infectious smile, and dedication to family and friends. He carried himself with a warmth that touched those around him and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. His life was filled with promise, and his untimely passing has left a void that words cannot fully capture.
While the investigation into Elijah’s death continues, his family and friends are holding onto his memory with love, strength, and faith. May his spirit live on through the countless lives he touched, and may he rest in eternal peace.
