In Loving Memory of Sone Falealo: Forever a Cougar, Forever in Our Hearts

It’s with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of Sone Falealo, a beloved 19-year-old freshman offensive lineman for the Washington State University Cougars, who tragically succumbed to injuries sustained in a shooting on Sunday, September 21, 2025, in Pullman, Washington.

Sone was not only a promising athlete but a remarkable young man—disciplined, kind, humble, and full of potential. He had just begun his journey at WSU, where he quickly became known for his strength on the field and his quiet leadership off of it. His teammates, coaches, and friends remember him as someone who gave his all, lifted up those around him, and faced every challenge with heart.

His loss is devastating—not only to the WSU football program but to the entire university community and everyone who had the honor of knowing him. Sone’s dream, dedication, and bright spirit will never be forgotten.

We mourn not only what we have lost, but what the world has lost—a life with so much more to give.

As we grieve, we stand with Sone’s family, teammates, and loved ones. We honor his memory by carrying forward the values he lived by: perseverance, humility, and love for others.

Rest in peace, Sone. You will always be remembered.
