Mobile Police Arrest Suspect, Name Victim in East Linwood Drive Shooting

Kamron Killings has been identified as the victim in a fatal shooting on East Linwood Drive, according to the Mobile Police Department.

Authorities said the 24-year-old was shot and killed Sunday by Jaylin Roberts-Westry, 18, who later stole Killings’ car.

On Monday around 12:31 a.m., officers spotted a vehicle traveling without headlights on McVay Drive. When they attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver refused to stop, sparking a pursuit that ended in the 200 block of Government Street. Police identified the driver as Roberts-Westry and took him into custody, transporting him to Metro Jail.

Investigators later connected Roberts-Westry to the East Linwood Drive homicide after he was already in custody.

Police originally responded to the 1300 block of East Linwood Drive around 10 a.m. Monday, where they discovered Killings dead inside a home. Officials initially withheld details of the case pending next-of-kin notification and the progress of the investigation.

This remains an active homicide investigation.
