Addalena Maiette, 19, Dies in Fatal West View Car Crash

It’s with deep sorrow that we share the tragic passing of Addalena “Addie” Maiette, a recent North Hills High School graduate from West View, Pennsylvania. Addie, 19, lost her life in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning at the intersection of Highland and Cornell Avenues, near the border of Ross Township and West View. Authorities confirmed that Addie was found deceased at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle involved was unharmed.

According to Allegheny County Police, preliminary investigation indicates that multiple vehicles were stopped in the left lane of Highland Avenue. When one car attempted to pass in the opposing lane while another made a left turn, a collision occurred, resulting in the fatal crash. The damage to the vehicles made it difficult for investigators to determine the exact sequence of events.

The incident caused power outages and led Northgate Middle-High School to cancel classes and events for the day, adding to the disruption and shock felt by the community.

Friends, classmates, and family remember Addie as a vibrant and kind-hearted young woman whose bright future was tragically cut short. Her family, friends, and the West View community are mourning her loss deeply. Addie’s memory and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
