In Loving Memory of Allison Lowery, 12-Year-Old Newburgh Girl Killed in Tragic Accident

NEWBURGH, Ind. — The Newburgh community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 12-year-old Allison Lowery, who died after being struck by a semitruck while riding her bicycle on Sharon Road near State Route 66. The accident occurred as Allison was crossing the street; investigators confirmed the truck driver had a green light and attempted to stop but could not avoid the collision.

Allison was a bright, kind-hearted girl who attended a local middle school. Known for her smile and her caring nature, she touched the lives of her classmates, teachers, and neighbors. Family and friends described her as full of life, with a love for adventure, and someone who made those around her laugh and feel loved.

Warrick County Sheriff Mike Wilder called the incident a tragic accident that has deeply affected not only Allison’s family but also first responders and witnesses. He urged the community to show compassion and refrain from sharing distressing images of the scene out of respect for the grieving family.

A GoFundMe page has been established to support the Lowery family in this time of unimaginable loss. The Warrick County School Corporation is also providing counseling resources to help students and staff cope with her passing.

Allison will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
