Cortez “CJ” Williams Jr., age 8, passed away tragically on Sunday, September 21, 2025, in St. Louis County, Missouri, after a backyard swing set collapsed on him at his mother’s home. Though CJ initially seemed fine, asking for food and water, he later became unresponsive and was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His sudden passing has left his family devastated and searching for strength during this heartbreaking time.
CJ was a bright, joyful boy who loved food, scary movies with his dad, and was looking forward to starting soccer. Known for his ability to make anyone smile, his laughter and energy brought warmth to everyone who knew him.
His father, Cortez Williams Sr., remembers him as a loving, funny, and spirited child. CJ’s family describes him as the kind of boy who could turn an ordinary moment into something unforgettable. Though his life was far too short, the joy he shared will remain in the hearts of his loved ones forever.
CJ would have celebrated his 9th birthday next month. His memory will live on as a reminder of love, joy, and the preciousness of every moment.
