It’s with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Keontae Hilderbrand, 11, of Reidsville, North Carolina. Keontae tragically lost his life in a DUI-related crash in Henry County, Virginia. A bright and promising student at Reidsville Middle School, he was known for his kindness, leadership, and love for his family and community.
It’s with profound grief that his family remembers the vibrant young boy whose life was cut short due to the actions of a driver under the influence. His grandmother, Pamela Neal, said, “If he wasn’t on the road, my grandson would’ve been with us today.” His father, Timothy Hilderbrand, urged others to consider the devastating consequences of impaired driving: “Think about the life you can take from someone who loves them.”
It’s with cherished memories that family and friends recall Keontae’s joyful traditions, including attending the River Fest in Eden every year since he was six. To honor his memory, his family will hold a balloon release at Reidsville Middle School on Saturday at 2 p.m.
It’s with enduring love that Keontae Hilderbrand will be remembered—a bright spirit whose warmth, joy, and promise touched all who knew him.
