Suspect, Victim Identified in Fatal Ashburn Shooting

ASHBURN, Ga – Authorities have released the identities of both the suspect and the victim in a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in Ashburn.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), the shooter has been identified as 31-year-old Zachary Taylor Brown-Earnest, of Ashburn. He faces multiple charges, including murder, for the death of 35-year-old Sinclair Wynn, of Sycamore, Georgia.

Ashburn Police responded to a call at a residence in the 300 block of West End Street at approximately 12:55 a.m. Shortly after 1 a.m., the GBI was requested to assist in the investigation.

Investigators say a gathering was taking place at the home when an argument broke out between Brown-Earnest and Wynn. During the dispute, Brown-Earnest allegedly shot Wynn. The victim attempted to flee to his vehicle but collapsed and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Brown-Earnest has been charged with:

  • Murder
  • Aggravated assault
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
