Shreveport, LA – The Shreveport community is mourning the loss of Juno Greene, one of two lives tragically taken in a mass shooting early Saturday morning in the Allendale neighborhood.
The violence erupted just after 2:00 a.m. in the 1600 block of Poland Avenue, where more than 150 people had gathered. When officers arrived, they discovered eight people suffering from gunshot wounds. Tragically, Juno Greene and another victim were pronounced dead at the scene. Six others were rushed to local hospitals with injuries that are expected to survive.
Investigators believe multiple shooters were involved in what appears to have been a targeted attack. Authorities are urging witnesses to come forward to help bring justice for the victims and their families.
Mayor Tom Arceneaux shared his grief with the community, saying:
“We are heartsick at the loss of life in Allendale. Shreveport deserves safe streets; this kind of violence has no place here. We will mourn the victims, pursue those responsible, and continue the hard work with our law enforcement and community to make every neighborhood safer.”
Police Chief Wayne Smith called the attack “a reckless and senseless act of violence” and vowed that those responsible will be brought to justice.
The investigation remains active. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Shreveport Police Department at (318) 673-7300 or Caddo Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373.
Our hearts go out to the family and loved ones of Juno Greene as they mourn his passing. May his memory be a blessing and his spirit live on.
