It is with heavy hearts that we announce the tragic passing of Eric Calloway, 42, who lost his life on Friday, September 19, 2025, in LaFayette, Alabama.
Eric was fatally shot outside the Lanett–LaFayette High School football game along Alabama Avenue East. Despite the swift response of law enforcement and emergency crews, he did not survive his injuries. Authorities later confirmed that an arrest was made in connection with the incident.
Eric was a beloved son, family member, and friend whose presence lit up every room he entered. Known for his kindness, steady spirit, and devotion to the people he loved, Eric made a lasting impact on those blessed to know him. His laughter, generosity, and ability to bring comfort to others will forever be remembered.
Though his life ended far too soon, Eric’s legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community. He will be remembered not for the way his life ended, but for the countless ways he touched lives with warmth and care.
