In Loving Memory of Azoria R. Jones

With aching hearts and profound sorrow, we remember the life of Azoria R. Jones, a 15-year-old girl whose life was senselessly and tragically cut short on the evening of Sunday, September 21, 2025, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Azoria was found on a sidewalk near North 76th Street and West Silver Spring Drive, the victim of a fatal shooting. Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passing marks the 105th homicide in Milwaukee this year a number that reflects not just statistics, but deeply personal and irreplaceable losses like Azoria’s.

Azoria was so much more than a headline. She was a daughter, a friend, a student, and a young woman with dreams and a future that should have stretched far beyond this moment. Her smile, her energy, and her presence left a mark on those lucky enough to know her. In her 15 short years, she brought love and light into the world brightening the lives of family, classmates, and friends with her spirit.

She had hopes, ambitions, and talents waiting to bloom. Her life mattered, and her loss is felt deeply not only by those who loved her, but by an entire community mourning yet another child taken too soon by violence.

As we grieve, we also cry out for change, for peace, and for justice—not just for Azoria, but for every child whose future has been stolen. We honor her memory not by focusing solely on how she died, but by remembering how she lived with promise, with heart, and with the kind of light the world desperately needs more of.

Our hearts are with her family and loved ones during this time of unimaginable loss. May you find comfort in your memories of Azoria, and may her spirit continue to shine in all who carry her in their hearts.

Rest in peace, sweet Azoria. You are loved. You are missed. You will never be forgotten.
