In Loving Memory of Corday Brown

It is with broken hearts and deep sorrow that we remember the life of Corday Brown, a vibrant and beloved 10-year-old boy whose time with us was tragically cut short on Sunday afternoon in southwest Fresno. Corday passed away after being struck by a vehicle on Golden State Boulevard an accident that has left a family devastated and a community in mourning.

Corday was known for his bright smile, boundless energy, and joyful spirit. A proud member of the Fresno Miners Youth Football program, he brought light and laughter to every practice, every game, and every person who had the joy of knowing him. On and off the field, Corday was a leader, a friend, and a shining example of humility, strength, and kindness far beyond his years.

Despite facing incredible challenges from the very beginning—losing his mother during childbirth and being raised by his father, who is now bravely battling cancer Corday never let hardship define him. Instead, he carried himself with grace and positivity, touching the hearts of teammates, coaches, and classmates alike.

“He was never a troublemaker. Just a good kid—humble, kind, and filled with life,” said Coach Raymond Mayberry, who had known Corday since he was five years old. “He had that special quality that made people look up to him. He was always trying to keep everyone smiling and having fun.”

Corday’s final moments came while he was simply being a child—crossing the street with his brother and friends. Though the pain of losing him is immeasurable, the love and memories he leaves behind are just as vast.

In honor of his memory, his Fresno Miners teammates will wear special memorial helmet decals, ensuring that Corday’s legacy takes the field with them every time they play. A community vigil has also been organized at the site of the accident, where loved ones will gather to celebrate his life and grieve his loss together.

Corday’s story is one of resilience, inspiration, and undeniable love. Though only 10 years old, he managed to leave behind a legacy that will live on through the people he uplifted, the joy he gave, and the example he set.

Heaven has gained a beautiful soul—a boy full of promise and light. May his memory forever remind us to cherish each day, to love boldly, and to hold our children close.

Rest in peace, sweet Corday.

You will always be our MVP.
