It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Travis Sentell Russell, age 42, of Dadeville, Alabama. Travis’s life was tragically cut short on Saturday, September 20, 2025, when he was fatally shot in southwest Birmingham.
According to authorities, the incident occurred around 12:45 p.m. in the 700 block of McMillon Avenue. Travis was discovered lying behind an SUV in a residential driveway, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where, despite medical efforts, he was pronounced deceased at 1:31 p.m.
Though taken too soon, Travis will always be remembered for the love, laughter, and kindness he shared with those around him. Family and friends recall his vibrant personality, his ability to make others smile, and his unwavering care for the people he loved. His passing has left a deep void in the hearts of many, but his memory will continue to shine brightly.
