Shardee McGill – Mother Found Dead, 3-Year-Old Daughter Still Missing

JACKSON, Miss. — Authorities have confirmed that Shardee McGill, 32, has been found dead in Alabama, while her 3-year-old daughter, Janae McGill, remains missing. The case has left family, friends, and the community in shock as investigators continue to search for the young girl.

According to Jackson Police, the investigation began after Shardee’s husband, Johnathon McGill, reported on Tuesday that he had not seen his wife or daughter since they left their Jackson, Mississippi home two days earlier on Sunday. Shortly after the report, police discovered Shardee’s 2017 black Chevrolet Equinox, bearing Mississippi license plate HNJ 817, abandoned in Epes, Alabama.

Alabama authorities later took Johnathon McGill into custody. Officials have not yet disclosed the charges filed against him, nor have they indicated whether the missing vehicle contained any evidence related to the disappearance of Shardee or Janae.
