It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Dorian Johnson, age 33, of Ferguson, Missouri, who tragically lost his life on September 7, 2025.
Dorian became known to many as a witness to the 2014 police shooting of Michael Brown, an event that shaped national conversations on justice and equality. Yet to those closest to him, he will be remembered far beyond that moment in history.
Dorian was a son, a brother, a friend, and a neighbor. He was known for his resilience, his loyalty, and his caring nature. Friends and loved ones recall his warmth and the way he carried himself with strength despite the challenges he faced in life.
His passing is a heartbreaking loss to his family, his community, and all those whose lives he touched. While headlines may recall his connection to history, his loved ones will remember him for the person he was—his kindness, his presence, and the love he shared.
