PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — Authorities have identified the pedestrian killed in a Palm Springs crash Tuesday evening as 29-year-old Raymond Olguin Jr. of Palm Desert.
The incident occurred around 8:55 p.m. on Sept. 16, near the intersection of San Rafael Drive and Avenida Caballeros. Palm Springs police said officers arrived to find Olguin in the roadway after being struck by a vehicle. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by officers and medics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, the driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. At this time, drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
The Palm Springs Police Department is asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has additional information to contact them at 760-323-8125.
The investigation remains ongoing.
