In Loving Memory of Victor Evans

It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of Victor Evans, who lost his life in a collision on I-35 in North Austin early Thursday morning, September 18, 2025. Victor was just 23 years old and had so much life ahead of him. He was a beloved son, friend, and colleague who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

At approximately 2:15 a.m., Victor was involved in a tragic crash near Tech Ridge Boulevard, in the 12200 block of North Interstate Highway 35, after traveling in the opposite direction on the highway. The collision involved an 18-wheeler and another vehicle. Despite the efforts of first responders, Victor succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Victor worked as a Wireline Operator at GR Energy Services, where his dedication and work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. He was a proud Austin resident, originally from Vicksburg, Mississippi, and a graduate of Lanier High School. His friends and family remember him as a vibrant, kind-hearted soul who touched everyone around him with his infectious spirit.

In the wake of this devastating loss, Victor’s loved ones are left with a hole in their hearts, but they also cherish the memories of his life a life that was full of promise and love. The world is a little dimmer without him, but his memory will continue to live on through the stories and moments shared by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

As we remember Victor, we ask that you keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Details of the Accident:
The crash caused significant traffic delays, with northbound traffic on I-35 being rerouted to Tech Ridge Boulevard as crews worked to clear the scene. By 8 a.m., the semi-truck had been cleared, though authorities have not yet released further details on the investigation.
