With heavy hearts, we share the tragic news of the passing of 35-year-old Jana Holman, a beloved woman from Columbia, Louisiana. Jana lost her life in a devastating two-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 561 on the evening of September 17, 2025.
The crash occurred near Duchesne Road shortly before 6:00 PM. Jana, who was driving a 2021 Chevrolet Trail Blazer northbound, tragically crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a 2015 Kenworth commercial truck. Despite the best efforts of responders, Jana, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Kenworth truck, thankfully, was unharmed.
Jana’s sudden passing has left a deep void in the hearts of her family, friends, and community. Known for her kindness, her infectious smile, and her warm heart, she touched the lives of all who knew her. Her family has expressed immense gratitude for the outpouring of support from friends and community members during this incredibly difficult time.
As the investigation into the cause of the crash continues, Louisiana State Police are reminding all motorists about the dangers of impaired driving and the importance of seatbelt use.
