ALTON, Ill. – With heavy hearts, we remember Jason G. Mugge, 53, of Alton, who passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, following a tragic moped crash on College Avenue.
The crash occurred in the early morning hours, around 5:30 a.m., in the 4500 block of College Avenue. Jason was transported to a St. Louis area hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased despite the efforts of first responders and medical staff. The Alton Police Department, with the assistance of the Metro East Crash Assistance Team, is investigating the collision.
Jason’s passing leaves behind a deep void in the lives of his family, friends, and community. He was a man remembered not just for his years, but for the kindness, laughter, and presence he shared with those fortunate enough to know him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
A visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until funeral services begin at noon on Monday, September 22, at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Family, friends, and community members are invited to gather, honor his memory, and celebrate his life.
Though gone too soon, Jason’s legacy of love and connection will continue to shine brightly in the lives he touched. May he rest in peace.
