Teresa Sue Gardner Death, Obituary

Teresa Sue Gardner, 64, of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on July 25, 2025, with her devoted husband by her side.

She was born on March 31, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Elden Ray Smith and Reta Clair (Clark) Smith.

Teresa was a 1979 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School and later worked at Grimes in Urbana until becoming disabled due to a car accident.

Teresa was known for her kind soul and generous heart; she would do anything to help others. She had a deep love for animals and supported causes close to her heart. Before becoming ill, Teresa enjoyed crafting, especially making candles and notepads. She was also known for her great sense of humor and her ability to make others laugh. Teresa brought joy to those around her and left her family with many cherished memories and stories.

She is survived by her father; her loving husband of 25 years, Joseph A. Gardner; her siblings, Vicky Smith Jeter and Glen Smith; and many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, as well as her brother, Richard Smith and brother-in-law, Joe Jeter; her uncles Gene Clark and Danny Clark.

Funeral service will be held at 12 P.M. on Wednesday July 30, 2025, in the Skillman, McDonald & Vernon funeral home, Mechanicsburg Ohio, with Jim Mayo officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
