Tragic Update: 3 Confirmed Dead in Horizon Biofuels Explosion in Fremont, Nebraska

FREMONT, Neb. — A heartbreaking update out of Fremont, where officials have now confirmed that all three individuals inside the Horizon Biofuels Inc. building at the time of Tuesday’s massive explosion have died.

The explosion, which occurred earlier in the day, left the structure engulfed in flames, making it impossible for rescue crews to immediately access the interior. After hours of battling the fire and carefully navigating the wreckage, emergency personnel located the remains of the three victims.

Authorities have not yet released their identities, pending notification of next of kin. The loss has shaken the local community and devastated the families of those who perished.

“This is an incredibly tragic day for Fremont,” one official said during a press briefing. “Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of the victims. We will continue working closely with investigators to determine what caused this terrible explosion.”

The cause of the incident is under investigation by fire officials, OSHA, and state authorities. The facility remains closed as crews continue their work at the site.
